PII.02.a1 Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (MT x100). Large cells with abundant, often foamy cytoplasm. Irregular, frequently large and multiple nuclei. No mitoses. This tumour primarily affects young subjects and generally occurs superficially over the cerebral hemispheres (meningocerebral lesion). The dense network of reticulin fibres previously suggested a diagnosis of fibrous xanthoma of the meninges.
